Visuals for heritage months, I designed culturally resonant imagery that honored diverse identities and traditions.
Goal
Leading visual initiatives for heritage months, I aimed to foster inclusivity and cultural resonance among employees through engaging visuals and social media spotlights. It was always important to bring a sense of belonging when it came to visuals for heritage months. I wanted to create visuals that individuals would resonate with and also feel a sense of inclusion. To ensure our visuals were aligned with the heritage months I met with the respective Employee Resource Group leaders and understood what they were trying to achieve. Deliverables were virtual backgrounds and social media employee spotlights.
Approach
Because we were dealing with peoples culture, identities, and traditions, it was important that I created visuals that were a bit more generalized and not so specific. In crafting visuals for heritage months, I embraced a culturally sensitive approach, eschewing specific symbols in favor of regionally influenced designs that resonated with diverse audiences.
